Commence your excursion from Errachidia, traveling southeast toward the village of Merzouga, positioned on the outskirts of the Sahara Desert. • Immerse yourself in the distinctive scenery en route, marveling at the Ziz Valley and its striking palm groves. • Upon reaching Merzouga, indulge in the enchanting allure of the Sahara Desert dunes. Embark on a camel trek to reach your desert camp. • Spending a night in a desert camp with some activities as a music dance under stars.

Rise early to behold the breathtaking sunrise casting its hues over the Sahara Desert dunes. • Following breakfast, embark on a camel trek back to Merzouga, then proceed onward to Rissani, an ancient town renowned for its vibrant market. • Discover the remnants of Ksar Oulad Abdelhalim and delve into the historic city of Sijilmassa, the precursor to Rissani. • Journey onward to Erfoud, famed for its fossil workshops, offering an opportunity to admire and acquire one-of-a-kind fossilized creations.

My wife persuaded me to take this trip, and I am so glad. Actually being in the desert of the ancient Berber people, (so there is a bit of sand); sitting with a nomad woman's tent and learning of her life; absorbing the sunrise and sunset, are memories that will stay forever. As will the memory of the Berber 'pizza', so delicious. As always, it is the people you meet who make the journey most special. Hassan shared his life, his knowledge, his music and his good humour with us - thank you so much.
